New year, new journey..

It's still too early to share it here as though we only found out about it 3 days ago. I have to make that phone call tomorrow and hopefully can get in as soon as I can. It's nerve-wrecking, happy, overjoy, excited, scared, worried, everything. Please pray for my well-being and my *  * Thank you.

Xmas update
|

parents have been at our home since Tuesday. we had Ayam Bakar Percik, garlic roasted asparagus, and white rice for Xmas Supper. poor my baby, he had to bundle up and grill those yummy ayam percik out in the cold with almost a foot high of snow on our deck.
after all cleaned up, we gathered around the tree and opened our presents. here's a shortlist of it:

I got a real good deal on this dress..it was $34.99 on sale from original price of $64.00. And I also got an extra 25% off for sale items. I even got 2 pairs of bra for $9 and $5 each. Seriously, that's dirt cheap. And I love their bras, too, other than Victoria's Secret. Clothing, Shoes, Intimate Wears, Handbags, and White Bed Sheet set are my weakness.
Mom'll be leaving to visit Malaysia next weekend for a month. She'll be celebrating Raya Haji with Dad and her families there. He's not doing his Southeast Asia (Seoul, Beijing, Hongkong, Delhi, S'pore & KL) this year, only consulting session in S'pore & KL. I insisted on him staying at Mandarin Oriental KLCC - this one wayyyyyyyy better than Shangri-La, Hyatt, The Legend & a few others they used to stay at - while in KL since that's paid by EM.
And I just sent her a very long list of stuff that I'd like her to get for me. Those will be part of my Xmas gifts this year. And I stinking surely hope I have sum'thing sum'thing very special to give them this year, too. Fingers crossed for BFP!!!!

for an early Xmas gift..
i love anything flowy, rufflely, empire waisted, silk, and/or cotton made blouses..this way, when my belly starts to expand, i don't have to worry about having to shop for a maternity wardrobe..though i don't mind doing it at all..and yes, they're from victoria's secret..and a few other empire waisted blouses from Gap. i have so many of them i don't even know which one i should wear first..

i was 3 days late...i peed on the stick and it came back negative. i thought, okay, it'd take a while for the hcG to rise so i waited until the 3rd day of delayed period to test again. it was when i went to pee on the stick again, that stinking period decided to come. so there..the answer of my late period. heartbroken... 
oh well, new cycle, new hope.
by the by, which of those 2 should i get?

and this what happened last night..he didn't object when i said i'd like our kids to learn Hindi..other than Bahasa Melayu and English. maybe he was too sleepy and tired when he agreed but his 'Yes' still counts, no?

my new crush..hehehe shahid kapoor. he's such a cutie, is he not? for the past week, i've been watching too much of indian movies..jab we met, vivaah, kismat konnection, don (new), jhoom barabar jhoom, jodhaa akhbar and more of shahid kapoor's old movies. i think i'd like to see shahid dating amrita rao. they'd make a beautiful couple.
enough of this ladka & ladki..so the trip to texas to visit Mom was great. she's getting better, recovering well. she starts driving again and i know it can be tricky to drive Sequioa (it's big and long). she cooked so much foods for me like I was pregnant. we enjoyed each other's company very much. i told Dad, i'd like Mom to come up and stay with me in NY at least a month before I give birth and a month after that. yes, i'm excited to get pregnant, the whole Reeds are stinking excited for me to get pregnant. i was the first granddaughter to get married and hopefully, insyaallah will be the first to give them great-grandkid.
I've always liked Texas more than NY, no snow to deal with, a lot of malls since I love to shop a lot, more convenient if anything. oh remember the ring that i asked Steve for my 25th wedding anniversary? yeah, i know i'm very materialistic a wife so anyway I tried the exact same ring on. gooossshhhh it was so stinking big, 2.68 total ct. since Steve wasn't there at the store with me, Dad had to give his credit card to the sales associate before he could pull the ring out. you know, in case i ran away with the ring, they'd charge his credit card for the loss. i didn't want to take it off but between a baby and a ring, i'll take a baby first. nice huhhh??!!
anywho, enough of this now. back to youtube with more indian ladkas and ladkis.

Labor Day & Ramadhan al-Mubarak

EncikHusband and I went down to Gettysburg for a quick getaway. We initially planned to head out on Friday after work but he thought it'd be nice to 'make' me watch the movie 'Gettysburg' before we went on Saturday. I survived the 4 hr movie with a nap in between. Trust me, it was long but exciting. I got to know all generals, colonels, infantry, cavalry, artillery, etc. so it did make the auto tour of the national military park a lot easier. there were so many monuments, about 10000 pieces, around the 25 miles square battlefield. The place is huge and sacred. So many disturbing images; dead army and sailors and animals. Anyhoo..
Unexpectedly, I'll be going to Texas to visit Mom on Friday. It'll be a short trip as though Dad asked me to help him out to get Mom settled at home after being hospitalized for 2 weeks. She'd gone through a minor surgery on her lung and the doctors found a few abression in it. Her lung was sticking onto her chest wall, in which it was not supposed to so it was believed to be the cause of her back chest pain. It'll take her about 1-2 months to fully recover with no heavy lifting and active moving. She also was diagnosed with sudden inflammatory response. But being she is, it'll be hard to confine her so that's why I'm needed there. A few days is still plenty according to Dad, afterall, he paid for my roundtrip flight down there. EncikHusband will not be going with me because of work and school and again, it's not vacation. As much as I hate missing work, I think this justifies family emergency, don't you think? What would you guys do if you were in my position?
I talk to her for a minute of two, here and there but she sounds very tired, and her voice is soft. Please pray for her speedy recovery.

i) Happy 51st Birthday Dad!! You're not old, you're just smarter and wiser. I love you very much.
ii) my menstrual cycle has come back..to normal. this is a great news as we're getting ready to start trying real soon. i used the ovulation calculator to estimate my ovulating, and based on my last cycle calculation, my period this month is right on time. hopefully it stays this way until we get pregnant. i'm just happy that it comes back without any problem after being on the pills for a year and a half.
iii) but the sad news is...Mom has been hospitalized since 2 nights ago. she's in the ICU ward at Baylor's. it all started with her sharp back pain; not kidney stone kinda pain and made its way quickly to her chest area. the doctors and specialists suspected a bad case of pneumonia but the cat scan didn't reveal anything obvious. they did the ultrasound, bloodtest, xray, and whatnot but they have yet to determine the cause. they also checked her heart and the diagnosis was good. she's been complaining about her back pain in the upper chest since a few months ago. they went to visit the specialist a few times andfinally was ordered to do a lung biopsy. but, this place has been delaying the scheduling and now she's in the hospital in pain, Dad is gonna ask them if they can perform the biopsy as well when he sees the pulmonologist (pulmonary specialist). but you can only ask them to do so much, i guess they 'know' what they're doing. she's stable, but is in a lot of pain. it's sorta ironic when she was up here visiting us, she was talking about how if she died, she wanted her body to be sent & be buried in Malaysia. i really hope and pray that she gets better soon and that her 'death' talking was just a nonsense talk. i wish i could be there for her with Dad. if her status's changed to worse/critical/life-threatening, I definitely will go back to Texas in a New York minute! I don't care about work when it comes to Mom and Dad, she's only got me, her closest blood kin in this foreign land we call home. Please, please, I beg all of you, to keep her in your prayer.
